Spyderco is well known for making some of the best knives in the world. They're rugged, dependable and most important... SHARP!
I recently got a great deal on a Spyderco Dragonfly folding knife and here are my thoughts.
What I like about the knife:
1. At 2.3 inches, the blade is long enough to give you some serious cutting power. It is also short enough so that you won't have to worry about getting in trouble with the law.
2. The blade is made from VG-10 stainless steel. This high grade steel has proven itself to be extremely resistant to rust or corrosion.
It is also hard enough to hold a fantastic edge so that you don't need to worry about sharpening very often.
3. Each Spyderco Dragonfly has a flat ground blade. This means that the blade thickness stays almost the same from the spine to the cutting edge.
This style of blade is much less likely to break or crack on you than a hollow or saber ground edge.
4. Spydercos volcano style grip feels very nice in your hand. It has a checkered pattern that helps to prevent your hands from slipping unto the blade.
What I didn't like:
1. The pocket clip is made from plastic and molded unto the handle. This is good because it will wear less on your pockets.
The downside is that if the clip breaks off of the handle, it cannot be replaced.
Overall:
With an MSRP of .95, the Spyderco Dragonfly folding knife is well worth every penny.
They also offer versions with etched or stainless steel handles.
